Playwork: Principles into Practice (P3) are a set of 3 qualifications that offer a pathway to becoming a qualified playworker in Wales. If you start without qualifications, completing all three will enable you to work as a senior playworker or playwork manager.
Qualifications Overview:
- Agored Cymru Level 2 Award in Playwork Practice (L2APP): A broad introduction to playwork, covering the importance of play, inclusion, and creating play spaces. Perfect for holiday playscheme workers.
- Agored Cymru Level 2 Certificate Playwork: Principles into Practice: Designed for year-round playworkers, this course includes reflective practice, safeguarding, and practical playwork skills.
- Agored Cymru Level 3 Diploma Playwork: Principles into Practice: Aimed at playwork managers and supervisors, this course covers community development, risk management, legislation, and working with families.

Additional Playwork Qualifications:
- Agored Cymru Level 1 Playwork: Introductory training on the importance of children’s play and playwork.
- Agored Cymru Level 3 Managing a Holiday Play Scheme Award (MAHPS): For those with another level 3 qualification in working with children, adding playwork knowledge and skills.
- Agored Cymru Level 3 Award in Delivering Dynamic Playwork Training (ADDaPT): Train-the-trainer course for playwork tutors.
These qualifications were developed in collaboration with Agored Cymru, Adult Learning Wales, and the playwork sector.
