The Play Pedagogy Award, developed by Play Scotland in collaboration with Education Scotland, recognises and supports schools to embed play in their practice and ethos.
Play Pedagogy is designed to:
- Empower educators to nurture creativity and foster a play-centred school culture.
- Integrate play experiences with curricular learning, enhancing creativity, problem-solving, and social skills.
- Align with Scotland’s commitment to children’s rights, promoting a child-centred approach.
The Award journey:
- Planning Phase: Define and evaluate play pedagogy across the school.
- Implementation Phase: Demonstrate inclusion, equity, and sustainability in play.
- Award Assessment Phase: Share your school’s unique play journey and future strategy.
